What is a dragon boat?
It is a special, 12.5 m long canoe-like boat and was built
according to a traditional plan. The boat has a dragon head at the front and a
dragon tail at the end.
A maximum of 18 to 20
people paddle in one boat, and, additionally, there is a drummer and a
helmsman. The paddlers are sitting on both sides of the boat, facing forwards.
The drummer is sitting in the front part of the boat, turning towards the
paddlers, facing backwards, whereas the helmsman is standing in the back part
of the boat.
After 10-15 minutes of practicing a totally beginner crew is able to direct the boat in

boating is a team building kind of sport, where 20 people are working together
towards the same goal simultaneously. This sport creates a great atmosphere.
Anyone
can participate in dragon boating without any qualification (except for
swimming). So anyone who likes water, nature and competion, and would like to
learn something new can participate in our dragon boat programs.
