Do
you know that there is a place int he middle of Europe where the beauty of the
perfect landscape meets the spirit of the environment?
Our
Waldorf Community has been working in the picturesque valley of Bükk mountains for
20 years. Among the mountain peaks
with elevation 700-800 metres, in the
Hamor Valley stands the wonderful building of the school. We have dreamt the
summer family camp to this gripping environment.
Your
night quarters are located next to the school, in different nice pansions and
apartments. Day by day we start our programs in the school, we are going to go
on excursions, to explore the attractions of Miskolc and we come back here
every day to have parties, long talks with each other, play games and learn about
our and your culture utmost. The meeting
point of the Szinva and the Garadna streams, where the water of the latter runs
into the Hámori Lake. It is a realy spectacular diamond, an not
naturally lake under the mountain peaks, before Lillafüred village. Left side,
a promenade, in Bükk forest, above the forest railway. If you go across the
lakebeach, found the Garadna creek confluence. The road fallow the scenic
Garadna creek. Here is the top salmon population in Europe. The Hámori lake, in
cold winter, most popular for the wintersports (ice skating). In summer
possible a boot renting, and paddling here.
The
settlement stretching along the bottom of the narrow valley is primarily famous
for its caves and waterfalls. On the right bank of the Szinva you find the upper-cascade.
Though it is only 8 meters high, its width, during the time of floods, can even
be 2.5 - 3.5m. It is a marvellous sight.
Int he
centre of Lillafüred we find one of he mos beautiful hotel sin Hungary, the
Hotel Palota. The castle built in neo-renaissance style between 1927 and 1930
is surrounded by a hanging garden and a large park. The view to Szinva Stream
and Hámori Lake is made even more magnificent by the murmur of the Szinva
Stream waterfall in the immediate neighborhood of the hotel.
The
walkways and stairs connecting the terrace gardens of Hotel Palota lead down to
the Lower cascade of the Szinva and to the Anna Cave beside it.
We will give you warm welcome!
